Quick Guide 01
Names and natures often agree
A Quick Guide 01
Our name is Air Water Performance Chemical Inc. As this name suggests, we are a member of the Air Water Group and a maker of “performance chemicals.” Essentially, we are a company that makes chemicals with various functions.
Chemicals are materials and products that are newly created through chemical reactions. They use natural resources such as oil, coal, natural gas and metals, and renewable resources such as plants as raw materials. Among these chemicals are “performance chemicals,” which have special functions that are useful in a wide range of applications in society. These are used as “intermediate materials” and “intermediate raw materials” that are eventually transformed into various products. The unique functions of each of them increases the added value of our customers’ products.
Quick Guide 02
Work that supports industry and daily life, and contributes to the future
A Quick Guide 02
Performance chemicals, which are created by adding various chemical reactions and processing technologies to a variety of raw materials, have limitless possibilities. They are used in industries in a variety of fields.
We manufacture a wide range of intermediate raw materials with exceptional functional characteristics, such as electronic materials, resins, food, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural chemicals, to support society in a variety of ways. For example, ultra-heat-resistant and low-dielectric materials are crucial for meeting the high-speed and high-capacity communication demands of the ultra-smart society of the near future, and food performance materials with functions that preserve quality have contributed to a reduction of food loss. In other words, our work is connected to the future of the earth and humanity. By researching and developing unique performance chemicals, we are helping to enrich the lives of people and the future.

Quick Guide 04
Creating new, one-of-a-kind products through the fusion of our unique technologies
A Quick Guide 04
Our company was created from the merger of four different companies, each with unique areas of expertise. As a result, we have many unique technologies in a wide range of fields. In the field of cutting-edge electronic materials, monomers for special polyimide resins, “SK Resin” phenolic curing agents, and ANTHRACURETM photosensitizers are one-of-a-kind products. Our strength also lies in our one-of-a-kind technologies. We are the only company in Japan to manufacture TEG (thermally expandable graphite), which can be used as a sealing material for parts and is flame retardant. We were the first company in Japan to succeed in the mass production of sodium acetate, a food functional material. We are also the only company in the world to succeed in the comprehensive commercialization of quinone products. The fusion of these many technologies is the source of our ability to create new one-of-a-kind products for customers who want materials with these special characteristics.
